The Rev. Kyle Murphy Rector

I am a Pennsylvania boy at heart. I was born and raised in Scranton, graduated from Lock Haven University in 2006, and moved to Williamsport that same year. I did my undergraduate work in Secondary Education, French. I was fortunate enough to have lived and studied in France and the Université de Haute Alsace in Mulhouse, France in 2004. While there, I traveled extensively throughout Europe and look forward to my future European adventures.

I taught French at St. John Neumann for eight years before discerning a call to the priesthood and studying at the Stevenson School for Ministry. I have a very large family and am the oldest of five siblings; I enjoy spending time with them and my nieces, nephews, and god-children.

I am humbled and grateful to serve our community and I look forward to the continued work of building the Kingdom of God here in Williamsport!

Chris Frantz Director of Music

2021 marks my 41st year on the bench. Starting organ lessons at age 7, I acquired my first organist position at the age of 14 which also included a choir. Through the years, I have held organist/choir director positions at a large Methodist church, a United Church of Christ, a Presbyterian and two Episcopal churches. I was Organist/Choir Director at St Mary's and Church of Our Saviour simultaneously for 14 years. During that time, I received a comprehensive education in Episcopal worship, music, and practices.

Through the years, my music has allowed me to work in the organ instrument field representing a prominent electronic organ line in Central PA. During this time, I received extensive training on the instruments but also had the opportunity to participate in many educational workshops for organists.

Additionally, I hold the position of Executive Director of Marketing and Sales at Savoy Contract Furniture in Montoursville. I have worked in the wood furniture industry for 35 years at two locations.

Bringing meaningful music into the sanctuary is a passion and calling for me. I consider this quest as my ministry of music which complements my strong faith. It is a great honor to be appointed your Director of Music at Christ Episcopal Church.
